Gender Inequality in India

The social differences between male and female are differently pronounced than in the Western world. Some Westerners say that women have fewer rights than men in India as compared to the relative rights in Europe or elsewhere, but this is debatable. It is more correct to say that everywhere in the world, men and women have different degrees of societal standing in certain social situations, and India’s differences between men and women are unique compared to the differences associated with other societies.

That said, women in India would have a markedly more difficult time getting certain types of employment and doing certain business functions than males, if they were to do certain things. The society is generally such that in most social situations, business is conducted through males, and females do other things in other places.
